The top of Toronto just got really spooky. We said “trick or treat” and York Durham Headwaters has delivered! While kids are gearing up for Halloween, ‘grown-ups’ are choosing a wealth of frightening seasonal activities from a basket full of terrifying haunted attractions, festive farm-fun and paranormal activities. Check this out!

YORK

Georgina Paranormal Society Events: The Georgina Paranormal Society is taking part in several events this October. From guided ghost tours to museum nights and special displays, each evening offers a chance to explore history, mystery and the unexplained.

Two Dark Nights at Georgina Village Museum: Join the Georgina Paranormal Society at the Georgina Village Museum on October 24 & 27 – 6:30p.m. to 9:30p.m. for a three-hour investigation of the museum’s most haunted buildings using professional ghost-hunting equipment. Pre-registration required. 18+

The Haunting of The Briars: The first four Fridays in October, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests are invited to The Briars for a night of haunted happenings, from ghostly echoes of unseen children to tales of a lone horseman in the library. The evening features vendors, haunted trails and more. 

Halloween Haunting Night at The Briars: On Friday, October. 31, 8p.m. to 1a.m. The Georgina Paranormal Society will guide spooky tours through the haunted trails of The Briars, sharing eerie stories and unexplained experiences. Four chilling tours offered, starting every 30 minutes (8 p.m. to 10 p.m). After the tours, stay for a Monster Mash Halloween Dance Party starting at 9p.m. with a live DJ and themed hors d’oeuvres.

Haunted Hollows (East Gwillimbury): Push your courage to the limits among scary clowns, ghouls, giant spiders, murderous inmates, ravenous cannibals, deranged mental patients and demented doctors at Haunted Hollows. This year, the 2.5-acre Halloween scare park features even more spine-chilling adventures that will test your nerves like never before.

Ghost of Old Town Hall (Town of Newmarket): Wednesdays in October | Two Tours per night – 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests will join a guided walking tour of historic downtown Main Street to hear stories of suspicious events dating back to the 1880s. The evening continues inside Old Town Hall with a live paranormal investigation led by the Georgina Paranormal Society.

Fright at the Museum - Elman W. Campbell Museum (Town of Newmarket): Take part in a live paranormal investigation with experienced investigators from the Georgina Paranormal Society on Saturday, October 18 & 25 – 7p.m. to 8:30p.m. Explore hidden stories and restricted areas of the museum, test ghost-hunting equipment, and hear chilling tales from staff. Warm up with hot apple cider afterwards and decide for yourself if something lurks in the shadows. For ages 18 and up.

Canada’s Wonderland:

  • Camp Spooky: This family-friendly event features trick-or-treating with characters, a kids’ Halloween parade, live shows with the PEANUTS gang, and other activities within the theme park.

  • Halloween Haunt: Terrifying haunted mazes, sinister scare zones, exhilarating live shows, and specialty food & drink.

  • The Conjuring: Beyond Fear *NEW*: New at Canada’s Wonderland this fall: step into The Conjuring: Beyond Fear, an all-new, SCREAMium experience where you’ll navigate iconic scenes from New Line Cinema’s The Conjuring Universe to lock away cursed artifacts before supernatural chaos is unleashed. Tickets can be purchased in park.

Screemers (Concord): Featuring haunted mazes and over 120 live actors, this bone-chilling attraction is housed under a large 1,400-square-metre tent. Experience stage shows and realistic props that will keep you on your toes. Enjoy unlimited rides on the Midway of Madness and sample snacks from the food truck eatery area.

The Village at Night (Black Creek):

  • Hypno Meditation and Mediumship – Friday, October 24, November 28, 2025 | 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – Join us for a transformational evening of hypno-meditation and live mediumship.

  • GHOST TOUR: Ghosts of The Village at Black Creek – Join us as we explore the supernatural side of Toronto’s historic and haunted village in the dark.

  • GHOST TOUR: Alone in the Dark – The Village at Black Creek – Join us for a spine-chilling, once-in-a-lifetime paranormal adventure, where intimate groups of 12 or fewer will have exclusive access to investigate haunted heritage buildings on site – in the dark! DURHAM

Cannington Haunted Attraction: A beast lives deep in the woods of MacLeod Park. Every year, this ravenous, blood-sick creature rises from its yearly slumber to satisfy its hunger at Cannington Haunted Attraction. Features include two outdoor wooded trails and an indoor barn maze, all of which are transformed into immersive horror-themed environments complete with live scare actors and some shocking surprises.

Brawley Woods Haunted Halloween Walk: One of Ontario’s most intense haunted walks features movie production props, animatronics and live actors in a dark, wooded forest.

Crocs After Dark at Reptilia: As night falls, our crocodiles begin to prowl, swim, and stalk beneath the moonlight. Guided by expert zookeepers, you’ll witness thrilling feedings, special nocturnal shows, and get face-to-face with some of nature’s most elusive predators. Feel the adrenaline as you stand just inches away from powerful hunters, fully in their element.

Hockley Valley Resort Murder Mystery Evening: On Halloween night, Hockley Valley Resort is hosting a murder mystery evening with a 1970s theme. The adult-only event includes a three-course dinner, a live DJ, and dancing.
