Insider information on the new MSC World America set to launch this spring will amaze the avid cruiser and intrigue the ambivalent sailor. First time cruisers who take a voyage on this incredible vessel will experience the thrill of a lifetime!

Before the ship touches the water, a traditional naming ceremony is held. What an exciting honour to be bestowed on a celebrity or a person of prominence. Who will be chosen as the Godmother? Who will bless the ship and initiate the smashing of a bottle of champagne on the hull for good luck? Now the ship is officially named. Float-out is a dramatic moment as the ship enters the water and begins its life.

To experience luxury beyond our imagination, they are introducing the largest MSC Yacht Club on MSC World America, sailing from Miami to the Caribbean. Elegance and premium service await with luxury suites, exclusive venues, and 24-hour butler and concierge services. We can indulge in ultimate relaxation on a private two-level sundeck, unwind with craft cocktails and entertainment at the exclusive Top Sail Lounge, and savour fine dining at the dedicated Yacht Club restaurant, which features al fresco table-side service with an exquisite a la carte menu.

With 2,626 cabins, the ship offers guests a world of choice with 19 different cabin types. From Promenade View Balcony Cabins to Connecting Family Cabins and the Owner’s Suites available on MSC Yacht Club, every guest can choose comfortable accommodation to meet their own needs. Imagine the exhilaration of doing your regular workout in the state-of-the-art MSC Gym powered by Technogym open to the sky with the ocean all around you. A swimming pool awaits when we’re done. And perhaps a massage before lunch at the MSC Aurea Spa onboard?

This is the future of cruising: the ship is powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), one of the cleanest marine fuels available at scale, MSC World America symbolizes a new world of cruising and features the very latest technology to lower its impact on the environment. In fact, the entire ship boasts a trailblazing design and striking futuristic silhouette. This is where innovation meets beauty, and we’re captivated by the ship’s unique blend of European style and American comfort.

Revel in a world of excitement with award-winning activities for the whole family in the Family Aventura District. The current cruise-trend is toward multi-generational families celebrating milestones, so the creators of MSC World America have designed exciting activities for the entire family. Located at the top of the ship, families can create memories to last a lifetime at The Harbour, a revolutionary new outdoor park that enables families to come together for activities, indulge in delicious bites and soak up the sun. Families can enjoy an exhilarating high ropes course at The Harbour and visit Doremiland, the action-packed kids’ area with incredible facilities developed for each age range—from babies to teenagers. Not enough? Families can also enjoy the bumper cars, roller rinks, high-thrill water slides and the Jaw Drop at The Spiral, an 11-deck dry slide!

Today, I am still corresponding with two travelling buddies from Australia who are “serial cruisers,” and a couple from Scotland who love to dance the night away. Ten years ago, we bonded on a Caribbean cruise during the afternoon Trivia Challenge, because of a disagreement over the name of the Canadian dollar coin. I believe that the best souvenirs to take home from a cruise are the friendships you make. And isn’t that what a vacation is all about—to see the world and meet the world’s people.
